From time to time we have puppies we place in terrific homes.
Mika and Bono as of March 26th, are the proud parents of 3 new puppies (1 girl & 2 boys).
Calamity and Chili as of April 8th, 2013 are the proud parents of 6 new puppies (5 girls & 1 boy).
We are current members of the USACTC, and are a Code of Ethics Breeder. We are very careful to follow the FCI standards and, as a result, only produce a few carefully planned litters a year.
At A Touch of Class Cotons our goal is to produce healthy, happy and well-socialized puppies that are equally happy as your constant companion, in a show ring, or doing pet-assisted therapy.
Our puppies are whelped in our bedroom and spend their first three weeks there, being handled daily by myself, my husband and our daughter. At four weeks of age they are then moved into our family room so that they can be exposed to the sights and sounds of everyday life. They are at that point introduced to our grandchildren and played with and handled by all. When the pups are 7 weeks old, each is individually tested for the purpose of recording their dominant personality traits. This “personality evaluation” helps us to place each puppy in the right environment for their individual personality traits.
Because Cotons de Tulear are companion animals, they thrive on human contact and can become despondent if they are left alone in a kennel every day. Therefore, we look for homes where our puppies are ensured loving, constant human interaction. We totally disapprove of having them placed in a kennel situation.
Our concern does not end with a puppy’s placement. Coton puppies want to please and will try to adapt to the needs of their new owners. However, in case there are some bumps in the road of ownership, we are here to help with any training, grooming, nutrition or any other issues that tend to arise. We do not sell our puppies and then disappear. We encourage our puppy owners to call us with any questions they may have.
We will do our best to ensure that each puppy becomes a happy member of its new family. Before going to their new home, our puppies have received a veterinary examination with accompanying health certificate and their first set(s) of vaccinations, wormed and micro-chipped. Our puppies are also fully litter box trained by 8 weeks of age.
Our contract includes a two year written health guarantee against genetic anomalies, and are replaced upon the return of the affected puppy. Our puppies are a lifetime commitment to us.
